Onyx

Onyx is a rare and exotic sedimentary rock formed in caves from the slow precipitation of calcium carbonate, creating striking, parallel bands of vibrant colors. Its defining and most luxurious feature is its translucency, which allows it to be backlit to spectacular effect. Because it is softer and more delicate than marble or granite, onyx is primarily used as a premium statement material for dramatic feature walls, backlit countertops, bars, and high-end decorative accents.
